The Indianapolis Local Education Alliance (ILEA), a new advisory board tasked with shaping the future of collaboration between Indianapolis Public Schools and local charter schools, has announced its first round of public meetings. The sessions will be held at 6 p.m. at the City-County Building (200 E. Washington St.) on the following dates:

June 25th, July 23rd and August 20th.

ILEA was created by legislation passed earlier this year and is supposed to produce recommendations for state and city officials by the end of 2025.

In person public commenters are to sign up ahead of time here. People can also email their feedback to ILEA@indy.gov.

There was some speculation about whether or not the group would even hold such meetings as they are technically exempt from from Indiana’s Open Door Law, but the officials say they want public comment and additional dates will be announced once finalized, according to Mayor Joe Hogsett’s office.
